Using Parameters to Personalize Messages
We recommend using parameters primarily to personalize the messages sent from the Outbound communication and Notifications features. Parameters make it possible to address colleagues by name. So instead of a generic "Dear Colleague", you can send the message as "Dear Béla" to your colleagues named Béla. In this case, all you have to do is select the ‘Name’ parameter, which automatically inserts each employee's name in the right place.
Beyond colleagues' names, you can use other data this way too. For example, ‘Medical fitness expiry date’. In that case, you can write your notification not just as “Expires in 30 days…”, but also as “Your medical fitness certificate expires on <matching parameter>” and CHEQ automatically inserts the employee's own data.
To use the parameters feature effectively, all you need to do is store the required data in the CHEQ user list. You can then use the stored parameters at any time while composing your communication.
Why is it good for the company?
Using the employee's name can make communication feel much more personal, especially when it comes to a birthday notification. Instead of generic wording, messages contain concrete data — without requiring lots of manual work.
Why is it good for the employee?
They receive concrete data that applies to them, so they can plan better. This is especially true when they get a message about the expiry of their medical fitness certificate.
