Employees are curious about what is happening in the company and what is going on in their colleagues' lives. Give your colleagues the opportunity to share their experiences with others from time to time. After a company event, encourage them to write a few lines about it:

  • how they felt at the event
  • what was the most memorable or
  • the funniest moment for them?

They can even submit photos they took themselves. Pick a few of the best short experience stories from the submissions and send them out to everyone.

Why is it good for the company?

  • Collaboration and empathy both improve when colleagues get to know each other beyond the world of work.
  • Positive messages help counterbalance negative opinions and assumptions.
  • Valuable content is created for employees without placing a significant extra burden on HR or the colleagues responsible for internal communication.

Why is it good for the employee?

  • Most people love sharing their opinions and experiences with others. This gives them a great opportunity to share them with as many colleagues as possible.
  • If a colleague enjoys being talked about, this is a great way for them to draw their coworkers' attention.
  • It boosts self-esteem and well-being, and supports the feeling of belonging to a community. At the same time, it helps build a healthy company culture where everyone's voice and feelings are heard.
  • We have loved listening to stories since ancient times. Even colleagues who are reluctant to share their own stories with a large audience enjoy reading their coworkers' experience stories.
