This all-staff briefing could have been a well-written post on CHEQ.

This all-staff briefing could have been a well-written post on CHEQ.

Every larger company regularly holds briefings for its employees, where they report on the results of the past period and outline the tasks and challenges of the coming months. While this is an important event, and also a useful one - since colleagues' engagement can be fostered by it, and it can motivate them towards better performance - its costs must also be reckoned with, and for a larger company with several hundred employees these can be quite considerable.

Just think about it: when 2–300 employees are out of production for a good half hour, plus shutting down and restarting the equipment, and, on top of that, the hard-to-define time it takes colleagues to discuss what they heard. On an annual basis, the “wasted” working hours the company pays for can run into the thousands.

Of course, it may still be worth the outlay, and it is true that employees expect regular briefings. But could this be done better, more efficiently? As the meme says, “this meeting could have been an email”; in the same way, the all-staff briefing could also be a well-written post that every colleague can receive with a single click on the CHEQ internal communication platform, and which they can then read on the bus on the way home too.

Beyond regular briefings, CHEQ can perform numerous useful corporate communication tasks, each of which - similarly to the example above - is capable of saving millions per year.
